MIDS-JTRS & BU2 Introduction Training

Crypto-modernized radios are here, and more allied nations are starting to see the critical need for the basic to intermediate level of knowledge need for proper operation of MIDS-JTRS and BU2 MIDS-LVT operations. By adding more specific training in areas of concern to the operations and maintenance of the MIDS-JTRS Software Defined Radio (SDR) and understanding of the Software Architecture. This new understanding will benefit any operator, maintainer, or engineer. This course will demonstrate the breakdown of the software architecture of the CMN-4 radio and the HMIG interface terminal web server use case in how to conduct fault finding, diagnose and report and the proper repair processes or level. Secondly, the course will provide an overview of the MIDS LVT BU2 Retrofit/Production radios to include SRU and LRU overview, fault finding and isolation, report and proper repair processes for the MIDS LVT BU2.

This year's Masterclass will have hands-on lab time embedded into the course!

This course will be three days in length starting on the Thursday before the week of IDLS: 22nd, 23rd and 26th of October 2020.

The Three-Day course will cover the introduction and intermediate level training that focuses on the fundamental principles of the MIDS-JTRS terminal and the MIDS LVT BU2.

Introduction to MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS)

This training lecture will provide a basic overview of the MIDS JTRS to include a functional overview to include a functional overview by each vendor in order to better understand each company's manufacturing and repair concepts and CMN4 usage.

Introduction to MIDS LVT BU2

The training lectures will provide a basic overview for the Block Upgrade-2 (BU2) of the MIDS-LVT, to include crypto keying, and capabilities and limitations. Once the BU2 terminal is introduced, the training topics will then cover the usage of a MIDS BU2 terminal with MIDS JTRS and Non-BU2 terminals.
